Marie Hebert Gachassin

New Iberia- A Celebration of Life will be conducted for Marie Hebert Gachassin, age 78, Tuesday May 24, 2011 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Jude Thierry officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

A native and former resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Gachassin died Friday May 20, 2011 at 3:40am at her daughters residence in Windermere, FL. Mrs. Gachassin was the owner of Studio 1 and Gachassin Catering in New Iberia. In her younger years, Marie was an avid bowler; she bowled in tournaments around the United States. She was a member of the 600 Club and Golden Age Club and was crowned queen in 2003. Marie was a happy, uplifting person,she enjoyed crocheting, and her most precious memories were those spent with her family.

Mrs. Gachassin is survived by her daughter, Susan G. Owens and husband Jim of Windermere, FL; her son, Bobby Gachassin of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and her grandson, Zachary James Owens of Windermere, FL.

Mrs. Gachassin was preceded in death by husband, Willie John Gachassin and her parents, Yve Hebert and Electa Courville Hebert.

Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
