Abbeville " Funeral Services for Mr. Harold Martin Arceneaux, Sr, 87, will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at David Funeral Home Chapel of Abbeville with Rev. Herb Bennerfeld officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 11:00AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. A native of Carencro and a resident of Abbeville, Mr. Arceneaux passed away at 8:10PM on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at a local hospital. Mr. Arceneaux was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family. Harold had been employed as a dispatcher in the oilfield industry. Mr. Arceneaux served his country in the United States Army from 1939 to 1945 during World War II. Mr. Arceneaux is survived by two daughters, Angie Menard of Erath and Tonya Arceneaux of Kaplan; eight grandchildren, Tiffany Arceneaux of Abbeville , Colby Arceneaux, Kylie Menard and Trey Menard of Erath, Ray Allen Duhon, Jr., of Abbeville, Kristy Duhon of Abbeville, Amanda LeBlanc of Abbeville, Courtney LeBlanc of Abbeville, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Thea Broussard Arceneaux; three brothers, Roland R. Arceneaux, Shelby J. Arceneaux and Merlyn Arceneaux, and nephew Roland J. Arceneaux. Serving as pallbearers will be Lindsay Scarces, Colby Arceneaux, Ricky Bertrand, James Derouen, Scott Hebert, and T. J. Menard. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Dale OBryan and Trey Menard. David Funeral Home of Abbeville, 2600 Charity Street, (337) 893-3777 will be handling the arrangements.
