Alma Segura Stroud

New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Roland J. Stroud, Sr., the former Alma Marie Segura, 88, on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Greene officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 28, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and resume on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Monday

at 6:30 PM.

A native and former resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Stroud was a resident of a Jeanerette nursing facility where she passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 9:05 AM. Prior to retirement, she was a nurses aide at Consolata Nursing Home for over 20 years. A practicing Catholic and active in the church, she donated time and money to the Bishop Service Appeal Fund. She loved crocheting, gardening, flowers, and cooking for her family, which they all enjoyed.

She is survived by her sons, Roland Stroud, Jr. of New Iberia and Lee Thomas Stroud and his wife Betty of Winnie, TX; her brother, Robert Segura of New Iberia and her sisters, Olga S. Greig of St. Martinville and Mildred S. Landry of Lydia. She was also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland J. Stroud, Sr.; her parents, Jon Robin Segura and Elise Stansbury Segura; her son, Kenneth Louis Stroud; her brothers, Lee, Clet, Henry, Orphie, Lloyd and Allen Segura and her sisters, Mable Segura, Vernice S. Babineaux and Enola Segura.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
