New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Carl Odell Lovell, Age 97, at 2:00PM Tuesday February 8, 2011 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Denton and Rev. David Jeffreys officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday February 7, 2011 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM and Tuesday from 8:00AM until service time. A native of Nacogdoches, Texas and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mr. Lovell died Saturday February 5, 2011 at 7:05PM at Iberia Medical Center. Mr. Lovell was an avid fisherman and was always dedicated to his family and his Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in WWII attaining the rank of Chief Commissary (AA) (T). The family would especially like to thank Dr.s Carl Ditch and Paul Gulotta and the entire nursing staff of the 4th floor at Iberia Medical Center for their compassionate and loving care given to their loved one. Survivors include his wife Bobbie Shows Lovell of New Iberia; daughter, Carla L. Hodge and husband Glenn of New Iberia and their children, Carl Hodge and wife Elizabeth of Lafayette and James Hodge of Ruston, daughter, Carolyn Fischnar and husband Michael of Bandera, Texas and children, Michael Cunningham, Leslie Araiza and Buddy Day and two sisters, Geraldine Becker and husband Gerald and Dolly Harper both of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mable Gant Lovell; 4 brothers, Odus, Otho, Gordon and Albert Lovell and 5 sisters, Ethel and Estelle Lovell, Bessie Cade, Mabel Chaney and Bertha Teal.
