Judith Bourque Berard

Loreauville- Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Willis Berard, the former, Judith Bourque, age 91, Monday May 9, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Buddy Breaux officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will begin Sunday May 8, 2011 from 4:00pm until 10:00pm with recitation of a Rosary at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume Monday May 9, 2011 from 8:00am until service time.

A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Berard died Friday May 6, 2011 at 12:07pm at her residence. Mom as she was affectionately known, enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and making boudin. Moms most cherished times were those spent with her family.

Mrs. Berard is survived by her daughter, Lucy Berard Bernard of Loreauville; her son, Autry Berard and wife Jackie of New Iberia; sisters, Edith Dooley, Helen Worley and Lucy Pete and husband Roy, all of New Iberia; brothers, Joseph Bourque, Zoda Bourque and Rineaud Bourque and wife Bernice, all of New Iberia; grandchildren, Sandy Jay Bernard, Jr. and wife Melinda of Loreauville; Garnette LeMaire and husband Thomas of Lafayette; Merrill Bernard of New Iberia; Ryan Bernard and wife Kelly of Loreauville; Claudette Linford and Autry Berard II, both of New Iberia; great-grandchildren, T.J. and Laini Bernard, Ashlee Norris, Alister and Candace Romero, Margaret LeMaire, Mathew and Zack Bernard and Stephanie Domingue, great-great grandchildren, Taylor Bernard, Alyssi and Hallei Vaughn, Cayden Albert and Maree-Clare Norris.

Mrs. Berard was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Berard, her parents, Leonice Bourque and Edolia Romero Bourque, brothers, Wesley and Robert Bourque and grandson, Stephen Berard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Sandy Jay Bernard, Jr., Ryan Bernard, Autry Berard II, Mathew Bernard, T.J. Bernard and Thomas LeMaire.
