Lafayette " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Charles J. Ledet, Sr., the former Shirley Landry, 84, will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church with Very Rev. W. Curtis Mallet officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 10:00AM until service time with a Rosary being recited at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A native of Broussard, former resident of Buras for over 30 years and a current resident of Lafayette, Mrs. Ledet passed away at 7:49PM on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at a local hospital. She is survived by her son, Ronald J. Ledet, Sr. of Carencro; her daughter, Cynthia Ann Buras and husband Gerald of Belle Chasse; twelve grandchildren, Christy Ledet, Ronald Ledet, Jr., John Ratcliff and wife Stephanie, Jay Buras, Steven Buras, Blake Buras, Brooke Buras, Jeremy Ledet and wife Jill, Nicholas Ledet, Claire Ledet, Monique Ledet and Danielle Ledet; six great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Anna Riu, Goldie Racca, Doris Theall and Pat Gannard and husband Jessie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Ledet, Sr.; her son, Charles J. Ledet, Jr.; her parents, Euloge and Laura Girouard Landry; two sisters, Verna Guthrie and Rose Guidry; and a brother, Emery Landry. Serving as pallbearers will be John Ratcliff, Jay Buras, Rickey Guthrie, Bruce Broussard, Jeremy Ledet and DJ Bergeron. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Ledet, Blake Buras and Mike Theall.
