Jeanerette " Funeral Services for Mrs. Gertrude Borel Brantley, 85, will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Calvary Pentecostal Church with Rev. A.L. Lyle officiating. Visitation will be at Calvary Pentecostal Church on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 2:00PM until 9:00PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Calvary Pentecostal Cemetery. A native of Oaklawn and a resident of Jeanerette Mrs. Brantley died at 9:24AM on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Iberia Medical Center. She was a charter and faithful member of Calvary Pentecostal Church where she impacted many lives as a Sunday School Teacher. She had a special love for her pastor and his wife, Bro. and Sis. Lyle, and was very dedicated to God and her church. She was the matriarch of her family, a devoted mother and grandmother who prayfully scarified her time for family and friends. She was known for her passion for bird watching, flowers, and sewing (having sewed many things for church fund raisers). She will be sadly missed by her daughters and grandchildren who say We love you Momma, Go Be with God . She is survived by her two daughters, Druscilla Migues of Jeanerette and Ella Williams of Plaquemine, LA; a sister, Delta Mae Borel of Jeanerette; nine grandchildren, Jimmy Gallegos, Sr., Bryant Welch, Shirley Babin, Mikey Borel, Miles Borel, Marla Domingues, Raelene Freeman, Brenda Rubly, Raymond Migues, Jr., and David Migues; twenty great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Nook Borel; her parents, Jearsime and Oliva Boudreaux Guillotte; a son, Michael Borel; a sister, Audrey Borel; a brother, Wilbur Guillotte; two grandchildren, David Migues and Frankie Williams; and a great grandchild, Chaylin Ourso. Serving as pallbearers will beJimmy Gallegos, Sr., Bryant Welch, Mikey Borel, Miles Borel, Raymond Migues, Jr., and Norbert "T-Boy" Prince, Jr. Serving as honorary pallbearerswill be Shirley Babin, Marla Domingues, and James Gallegos, Jr. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her pastor, his wife, and her church family for surrounding her with love and prayers. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette at 400 Provost St. (337)276-5151 will be handling the arrangements.
