Erath- Memorial Services will be held at 7:00PM on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 for Mr. Robert Allen Hughes, Sr., 62, at David Funeral Home of Erath. Reverend Thomas L. Payne, Pastor of New Life Church of Abbeville will officiate the service. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 3:00PM in the funeral home on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 until time of service. A native of Magnolia, Arkansas and a longtime resident of the LeBlanc Community Mr. Hughes passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 at his residence. Robert was a Conductor with Union Pacific Railroad and assisted with various youth programs in the area while his children were growing up. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking , traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He was a huge Arkansas Razorback fan and a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Sondra Landry Hughes of LeBlanc; his step-son, Troy Landry of Milton; son, Robert Allen Hughes, Jr. and his wife, Melissa of LeBlanc; daughter, Ashlie Hughes of Milton and his, grandson, Alex Michael Hughes of Milton; brothers, John Wayne Hughes and his wife Linda of Cove, Arkansas and James Hughes of Huntsville, Alabama and one sister Anita Hughes Keller and her husband, Michael of Bassett, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John Leonard Hughes and Mrs. Alice Stephens Hughes and one daughter, Claire Elizabeth Hughes.
