Lydia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Albert J. Dupre, Age 90, at 11:00AM Thursday March 10, 2011 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia with Father Greg Chauvin officiating. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville. Visitation will be Wednesday March 9, 2011 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at David Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation will resume Thursday from 8:00AM until service time. A Rosary will be prayed Wednesday at 7:30PM at the funeral home. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 1982 Honor Guard. A native of Montegut, longtime resident of Lydia and current resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Dupre died at Maison Teche Nursing Home Saturday March 5, 2011 at 11:05AM. Mr. Dupre was a member of the American Legion and the VFW Post 1982 Honor Guard. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Morton Salt Company for 42 years. Mr. Albert enjoyed traveling and being with his family. Survivors include his children, Danny Dupre and wife Judy of Lydia, Kerry Dupre and wife Julie of Lafayette and Glenda Salkowitz of Franklin; one brother, Richard Dupre of Lydia and a son in law Alton Hebert of New Iberia; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ophelia Babin Dupre; his second wife, Sable Smith Dupre, two daughters, Judy Lanie and Arline Hebert; parents, Wilfred and Josephine Hotard Dupre; two brothers, Wilton and Johnny Dupre and two grandchildren, Keith Lanie and Michelle Hebert. Pallbearers will be Ross Salkowitz, Todd Fontenot, Blaze Frey, Ryan Boudreaux, Marshall Dupre and Billy Lahasky. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Dupre, Blake Marcantel and Slade Santes.
