Thomassine Marie Bares

Erath- A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomassine Marie Bares, 95, will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, June 6, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Msgr. Douglas Courville officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Sunday, June 5, 2011 from 10:00AM until 9:00PM recitation of the Rosary at 6:00PM and will resume at 8:00AM on Monday, June 6, 2011 until time of service. Interment will follow services in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery.

A native and longtime resident of the LeBlanc community, Thomassine was a 1936 graduate of Erath High School, a member of the Erath Ladies Altar Society, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Daughters, Erath Town and Country Homemakers, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the LeBlanc Community Rosary Group. She was a loving aunt to all who knew her; loved gardening, sewing, needlepoint , praying and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sister, Margaret Bares of Erath; two brothers, Louis Theo Bares and Paul Bares both of Youngsville; godchild, Evette Bares LeBlanc and her husband, Russell; great-nieces Torie LeBlanc Rudisill and her husband, Terry and Candace LeBlanc Trahan and her husband, Jeremy; great-nephews, Nicholas LeBlanc and Trent LeBlanc all of Erath as well as a host of numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Germain Bares and Edolie Frederick Bares; brothers, Henry, Pierre, Joseph, Edier, Edvard, John and Theodore Bares, Sr.; sisters, Irma and Edith Bares ,Elodie Frederick and a special, Great-great niece, Stevie Nichole LeBlanc.

Readings will be done by Betty Landry and Torie Rudisill; Giftbearers will be Candace Trahan and Moureen Ransonet .

Pallbearers will be Russell LeBlanc, Trent LeBlanc, Tommy Ransonet, Sr., Theodore Teddy Bares, Jr., Terry Rudisill and Jeremy Trahan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jace Rudisill, Haylie Rudisill, Chance Trahan, Tyler Trahan, Brianna LeBlanc and Nicholas LeBlanc.

The family would like to thank the staff at Dr. Lahaskys office for their care and support shown to Thomassine and also a special thank you to the staff at Concepts of Care Home Health and St. Theresa Hospice; all your support and help was greatly appreciated by us all.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made in the memory of Thomassine to St. Theresa Hospice, 100 General Mouton Avenue, Lafayette, LA 70501.
