Jeanerette "Funeral Services will be conducted for Elwood M. Boo Boo Derouen, Age 58, at 11:00AM Monday March 7, 2011 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville. Visitation will be Sunday March 6, 2011 from 5:00PM until 10:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00AM until service time. A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Elwood died Friday March 4, 2011 at 6:14PM in a local health care facility. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing and most of all loved being with his family. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Perez Derouen of Jeanerette; daughters, Michelle Cloteaux and husband Ray of Erath, Toni Trahan and husband Eric of Jeanerette and Cody Blanchard and husband Chad of Broussard, brothers, U.L. Derouen Jr. and wife Francis and Sherwood Derouen and wife Linda all of Jeanerette and Ricky Derouen and wife Mary of New Iberia; sisters, Lorena Breaux and husband John of Franklin, Lovinia Pepper and husband Randy and Sandra Tran and husband Hoa all of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Ross, Hanna and Christian Cloteaux and Kaleigh and Parker Blanchard. He was preceded in death by his parents, U.L. Derouen Sr. and Beulah LeBlanc Derouen and a brother, Raywood Derouen. Pallbearers will be Scott and Ricky Derouen, Floyd and Traville T.J. Frederick, Clay Baudoin and George Stevens. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray, Ross and Christian Cloteaux, Eric Trahan, Chad and Parker Blanchard and U.L. Derouen Jr. and Sherwood Derouen.
