Willa Bienvenue Romero

New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Wilson J. Romero, Sr., the former, Willa Bienvenue, age 84, Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Gregory Chauvin officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will begin Friday, October 8, 2010 from 2:00PM until 8:00PM with a recitation of a Rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume Saturday from 8:00AM until service time.

A native of Youngsville and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Romero passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 3:52PM in a local hospital.

Mrs. Romero is survived by her son, Wilson J. Romero, Jr. and wife Mary of New Iberia; her daughters, Barbara R. Dugas and husband F.J. of New Iberia; and Katherine R. Dorsey of Lake Charles; her brother, Wiltz Bienvenue of St. Martinville; her grandchildren, Ashley Gordon-Cavarette, M.D. and husband Jimmy of Austin, TX; Ryan Romero and wife Shelley of Katy, TX; Heath Dorsey and Heidi Olivier, both of Lake Charles; her great-grandchildren, Ella Rose Olivier of Lake Charles and Ava Claire Romero of Katy, TX.

Mrs. Romero was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson J. Romero, Sr., her parents, Gilbert Bienvenue and Nolice Romero Bienvenue, her grandchild, Blaine Dorsey, her great-grandchild, Joel Morris Olivier, her sisters, Shirley Dupuy, Una Mae Hoffpauir, Hazel Guilbeau and Dot Martin, her brother, Willis Bienvenue, her half-sister, Loris Menard and her half-brother, Doris Bienvenue.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Romero, Heath Dorsey, F.J. Dugas, Joey Bienvenue, Nelson Miller and Wiltz Bienvenue.

Honorary pallbearer will be Wilson J. Romero, Jr.
