Loyce Mcdonald Palmer

Broussard " Funeral Services for Mrs. Edwin Joe L. Palmer, the former Loyce McDonald, 93, will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, November 12, 2010 at David Funeral Home Chapel in Lafayette with Rev. Wallace Millsaps officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00AM until service time. Private burial will take place in Masonic Cemetery in Clinton. Born in Oak Grove, Louisiana and a resident of Broussard, Loyce passed away at 8:10AM on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at a local hospital. Loyce was the oldest of eight children. She graduated from Many High School in 1933. She was a long-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Loyce was also a member of the Many BPW Club. She was dedicated to helping others and being involved. She is survived by her son, Joel Palmer and wife Andrea Andy of Broussard; her grandson, Maxwell J. Palmer of Broussard; her special friend, Rosemary Lee of Cade; one sister, Doris Wright of Many; four brothers, Jack Mc Donald and Rebecca of Baton Rouge, John B. McDonald and wife Virginia of Baton Rouge, Leo McDonald and wife Ann of Shreveport and Wiley F. McDonald, Jr. and wife Marian of Huntsville, TX; and sister-in-law, Laverne McDonald of Amarillo, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Joe L. Palmer; her parents, Wiley Green McDonald, Sr. and Eva Heard McDonald; and her brothers, James H. McDonald and Ray McDonald and his wife Evelyn. Serving as pallbearers will be Loyces family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Fontana Rehab Center, ULs Life Writing Class and First Baptist Church of Broussard. David Funeral Home of Lafayette, 316 Youngsville Highway, (337) 837-9887, is in charge of arrangements.
