Sylvia Crochet Belaire

Visitation will be on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and a rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM in the funeral home. Visitation will resume on Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM until services.

A native of Loreauville, a resident of New Iberia and former resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Belaire died on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 12:50 AM in a New Iberia nursing facility. She was employed as an Insurance Clerk with the Iberia Parish School Board and retired after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville. Her passion was her family. She was a devoted mother, granny and GiGi " great granny. She lovingly sacrificed her time and energy to everyone in her family, as well as co-workers and people she helped in her job.

She is survived by her children, Pauline Polly B. Dugas and her husband Randy, Francine Franie B. Dugas and her husband Joel, David Belaire and his fiancee Sue Ryan all of Loreauville, Bernardine Deanie Stewart and her husband Barney of Rayne, Sharon Oubre of St. Martinville and Glen Belaire and his wife Dodi of Spring, TX; her brothers, Donald Crochet and his wife Earline of Colorado Springs, CO and Nolan Crochet of Loreauville; her sister-in-law, Mary Crochet of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Andrea Charpentier, Allison Bonin, Danielle and Bart Belaire, Steven and Caroline Stewart, Jake, Emmalea, Catherine, John and Matthew Dugas, Anne Michelle and Jeffrey Oubre, Joshua and Cole Belaire and her great grandchildren, Austin and Mindy Charpentier, Bailen and Andi Bonin and Carson Gondron.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clevens F. Belaire; her parents, Dennis and Marie L. Blanchard Crochet; her brother, Sidney Crochet and her sister-in-law, Earline Prince Crochet.

Pallbearers will be David Belaire, Glen Belaire, Jake Dugas, Steven Stewart, Bart Belaire, Jeffrey Oubre and John Dugas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Dugas, Randy Dugas, Barney Stewart, Nolan Crochet, Donald Crochet and Matthew Dugas.
