Erath " A mass of Christian Burial for Aubrey Lynn Goutierrez, 62, will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, November 5, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father William C. Blanda officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath beginning on Thursday, November 4, 2010 from 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, November 5, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. A native of Erath and a long time resident of Abbeville, Mr. Goutierrez died at 7:28AM on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Maison du Monde Nursing Center. He was an operator with Texaco for over 24 years. His love for food and cooking led him to become the founder of Lynn Gs Seafood and Steakhouse after he realized the Cajun plate lunches they were serving at their drive thru daiquiri shop were selling faster than the daiquiris. He joined the Louisiana Restaurant Associations Acadiana Chapter and served as vice president, president, secretary and treasurer. He was later nominated and served on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Restaurant Association. Mr. Lynn has received many awards for his culinary skills, such as Restaurateur of the year awarded by the Cattlemens Association of Abbeville. He won first place in the seafood division, meat category and gumbo cookoffs while competing in professional cooking contests. He was also name a Living Legend at the Acadian Museum in Erath. He was a successful horse trainer and owner of Lynn Goutierrez Racing Stable. Through the years he was a member of The Greater Vermilion Parish Chamber of Commerce and The Rotary Club. Though Mr. Lynn was active in the business community he never lost his identity as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he had a unique sense of humor both at home and his dealing with the public. One of his many famous quotes was It only takes a little more to be first class . That is truly how he approached every aspect of life, never settling for anything short of the best. He truly lived life to its fullest. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Connie Clement Goutierrez of Abbeville; a son, Jason Goutierrez and his wife Johnnie of Erath; a daughter, Jodie and her husband Hampton Touchet of Erath; four grandchildren, Bailey Touchet, David Touchet, Kourtni Goutierrez, and Sam Goutierrez; his mother, Ledie Brasseaux Goutierrez of Erath; six brothers, Donney Goutierrez, Shelley Goutierrez, Ned Goutierrez, Jr., Marty Goutierrez, Farron Goutierrez, and Benny Goutierrez; his mother-in-law, Audrey Clement; and his grand mother-in-law, Alma Hebert. He was preceded in death by his father, Ned Goutierrez, Sr. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Goutierrez, Hampton Touchet, Jamey Clement, Farron Goutierrez, Steve Bernard, and Eddie Goutierrez. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bailey Touchet, David Touchet, Donney Goutierrez, Shelley Goutierrez, Ned Goutierrez, Jr., Marty Goutierrez, Benny Goutierrez, and Cardell Clement. The Family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Maison du Mondes Alzheimer Unit, Fr. Blanda, Deacon Davis, Hospice of Acadiana, and all their friends and family.
