Hugh J. Bertrand

Abbeville- A Memorial Service for Mr. Hugh Jim Bertrand, 84, will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at David Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home on Saturday, March 12, 2011 from 1:00PM until the time of service with a recitation of the rosary at 1:30PM. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. A native of Henry and a resident of Abbeville, Mr. Bertrand passed away at 4:15 PM on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Abbeville General Hospital. Hugh was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Georgia Lee Bertrand; daughter, Karen Ann Bertrand of Thibodaux; son Mark Alan Bertrand of Los Angles California; his brothers, Virnez Bertrand and wife Mable of Delcambre, and C.J. Bertrand and wife Mary Lou of Abbeville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Bertrand and Edith Soirez Bertrand; and a sister, Hilda Bertrand. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Ronald Lahasky, the staff of LTAC at Abbeville General , and private caretakers, Treva Touchet, Cassandra Nunez, Demetria Nunez, Leona Brailey, Jenny Touchet, and Sam Veazey.
