Meaux- Funeral Services for Mr. Alvin Creole T. Guillot, 73, will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at David Funeral Home Chapel of Abbeville with Fr. Gregory Simien officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Friday, March 4, 2011 beginning at 4:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. The funeral home will remain open all night until the time of the services on Saturday. Interment will follow at Petry Cemetery in Meaux. A native and resident of Meaux, Mr. Guillot died at 6:34PM on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at his residence. He was known for his love for family and his enjoyment of being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren; raising animals and livestock; and was always willing to help. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus; was employed with Newpark Well Heads for over 20 years; and after retirement he worked for the Police Juror. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary LeBouef Guillot of Meaux; two sons, Nolan A. Guillot and his wife Kim of Opelousas and Kelby Guillot and his fiancee Kelly Hartman of Tilden, TX; three daughters, Ethel F. Guillot of Meaux, Claudette Broussard and her husband Kenneth of Forked Island, Veronica Guillot and her friend Joey Latiolais of Meaux; eight grandchildren, Nicole Guillot, Dusty Broussard and his wife Crissy, Staci Hebert and her husband Corey, Kandice Guillot, Stoney Broussard and his wife Lacey, Kimberly Vincent, Kiahanna Guillot, and Bryint Guillot; three step grandchildren, Alex Jones and his wife Jenae, Justin Latiolais, and Emma Hartman; three great grandchildren, Thalan Broussard, Nicole Hebert, and Cheyanna Broussard; a step great grandchild, Blake Jones; a brother, Allen Guillot of Huntsville, TX; and a beloved pet, Petit. He was preceded in death by an aunt, Elmire G. Gaspard and her husband Gladue that raised him; a great grandchild, Arissa Broussard; his parents, Claude and Rosa Belle Dubois Guillot; and a brother, Nolan Guillot. Serving as pallbearers will be Dusty Broussard, Stoney Broussard, Joey Latiolais, Dwayne Guillot, Bryint Guillot, and Buddy Roy. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Nolan Guillot, Kelby Guillot, and Kenneth Broussard. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of IBC Hospice, Home Health, and Dr. Hucthinson.
