Grand Marias " A Mass of Christian Burial for Paul Merlin Boutte, Sr., 58, will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Chauvin officiating. Visitation will be at St. Nicholas Catholic Church on Saturday, March 12, 2011 from 9:00AM until the time of the service with a recitation of the rosary at 11:30AM. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Mausoleum. A native and resident of Grand Marias Mr. Boutte died at 9:54 AM on Friday, March 4, 2011 at Iberia Medical Center. He worked as a mechanic in the area salt mines and farmed with his family on his spare time. He was also a former member of the Knights of Peter Claver; A member of St. Nicholas Holy Name Society; and a member of the Magnificent 12 Social Club. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Veronica Broussard Boutte of Grand Marias; two sons, Paul Merlin Boutte, Jr. and his wife Casey of Grand Marias and Chad Michael Boutte of Grand Marias; three brothers, Moreal Boutte and his wife Wanda of Baton Rouge, Peter Morran Boutte and his wife Clair of Beaumont, and Macain Boutte and his wife Carolyn of Lafayette; two sisters, Melinda Olivier and her husband Benward of Grand Marias and Milleson Arceneaux and her husband Tony of Grand Marias; three grandchildren, Aubri Boutte, Kelsey Boutte, and Braeden Boutte; three godchildren, Samantha Boutte, Norris Boutte, and Harold Grogan; and a beloved pet, Lexi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Florence Olivier Boutte, and a beloved pet, Bruizer. Serving as pallbearers will be Norris Boutte, Harold Grogan, Sean Arceneaux, Peter M. Boutte, Jr., Herbert Boutte, Sr., Paul Lurch I. Olivier, Manolito Martinez, and Clarence Broussard. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Clifton Olivier, Norman Boutte, Benedict Olivier, Lawrence Boutte, Jr., Barry Olivier, Byron Olivier, Tony Arceneaux, Benward Olivier, Kylie Boutte, Shea Arceneaux, Calvin Broussard, and Shane Arceneaux.
