Carencro " A private burial for Doris Ruth Bibby Sanders, 84, was held at Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette. Doris was born on March 12, 1926 in May, Texas to Charlie and Rachel Bibby and passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2011 in Carencro, Louisiana. She was a charter member of Highland Baptist Church in New Iberia, Louisiana. While attending Highland Baptist Church, she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School class and the W.M.U. Womens Organization. She was also a former member of the Pink Ladies at Dauterive Hospital. Mrs. Sanders was always known for her warm smile, her love of the Lord and her excellent cooking skills. She never met a stranger. She is survived by her two sons, Larry of Houston, Texas and Tommie and wife Cindy of Carencro, Louisiana. She is also survived by her grandson, Matthew Sanders of Wilmington, Deleware; granddaughter-in-law, Miranda Sanders Rouse and great-grandson, Brayden Matthew Sanders of Benton, Arkansas; a special daughter , Kenniann Summerell of Little Rock, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Maxine Fenton; her husband of fifty three years, Thomas Matthew Sanders; and her grandson, Marc Brady Sanders. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Sanders name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503 or to Highland Baptist Church, 607 Victory Drive, New Iberia, LA 70563. The family would like to give a special thank you to Donna Harris for the loving care given to Mrs. Sanders.
