Loreauville "A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Clay Romero the former Lucille Lou Bonin, Age 84, at 11:00AM Monday October 18, 2010 at St. Josephs Catholic Church with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be Sunday October 17, 2010 from 5:00PM until 10:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00 AM until service time. A native and resident of St. Martinville and longtime resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Romero died Saturday October 16, 2010 at 5:10AM in a New Iberia hospital. Mrs. Romero was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Lou as all her patients called her was a practical nurse for over 50 years. She worked at LaSallette hospital in Loreauville and then for Dr.s Jacob and Robert LaHasky from 1965 to 2003. She loved sewing, playing cards, pokeno and spending time with her great grandchildren; (her little angels). Survivors include her children, Murlda B. Albert and husband Robert of St. Martinville and Kenneth Berard and wife Jan of Loreauville; three brothers, Leroy Bonin of St. Martinville, Ledon Bonin of Houma and Lester Bonin of Los Angeles, Ca.; two sisters, Delta Meaux of Winnie, Texas and Delores Boudreaux of St. Martinville; grandchildren, Lisa Thibodeaux, Leeland, Lonnie and Chad Albert, Kent Berard and Timmi McHugh and seven great grandchildren, Kylie and Brianne Thibodeaux, Tayga and Trey Albert, Paige and Trace McHugh and Madison Berard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clay Romero; first husband, Calvin Berard; parents, Octave Bonin and Ursule LeBlanc Boutte, one sister, Dorothy Terrell,deceasedhusband of Lisa Thibodeaux,Dale Thibodeauxand an infant grandchild. Pallbearers will be Kenneth and Kent Berard, Rod McHugh, Robert, Leeland, Chad and Trey Albert. Honorary pallbearers will be various family members and friends.
