Erath- Funeral Services for John Authur Viator, 54, will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 2:00PM at David Funeral Home of Erath with Mr. Roy P. Thomas officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM on Thursday, October 7, 2010 until 10:00PM and will resume at 8:00 AM Friday, October 8, 2010 until service time at 2:00PM. Interment will follow services at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Delcambre. A resident of Erath, Mr. Viator passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at his residence. John was a local musician who loved music, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. His local band was Close Enough and he also played with the FA TRAS Cajun Band and enjoyed playing in jam sessions at 2 checks (Touchets) in Maurice and at the Caf Museum in Erath. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Connor Viator of Erath; daughter Dawn Viator of Erath; step-daughter Crystal Prejean of Abbeville; step-son Ray Prejean, Jr. of Abbeville; granddaughter Brittnay Bourque of New Iberia; grandson Devon Magee of Erath; step grandsons Shawn Byron and Logan Bryon both Abbeville; step granddaughter Taylor Byron of Abbeville; mother Gloria Suire Viator of Abbeville; brother Paul D. Viator and his wife Angela of Delcambre; sisters Nancy Prejean and her husband Elvin of Abbeville and Judy Abshire and her husband, Roger of Meaux. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Viator and one brother, Mark Anthony Viator. Pallbearers will be Paul Viator, Ray Prejean, Jr., Eddie Connor, Johnny Connor, Wilsie T-Boy Connor and Everette Curole. Honorary pallbearers will be James LeBlanc and Ronnie Dore. The family would like to express a special heartfelt thank-you to the entire staff of Hospice of Acadiana, especially to Julia, Louise, Nancy and to Dr. Corbett LeBouef for their care and attention to John during his illness.
