A native of Abbeville and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mr. Snoddy died Friday November 12, 2010 at 10:20AM in a New Iberia health care facility.
He enjoyed going to the casino and doing handyman chores around his home. Mr. Snoddy was also an avid bowler. J.D. especially enjoyed caring for his family. He was a truck driver with Sam Broussard Trucking for the past 25 years and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Kelley Snoddy of New Iberia; children, Robert Snoddy and wife Donna and James D. Snoddy III and wife Anita all of New Iberia and Thomas J. Snoddy and wife Theresa K. of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Blake J. Snoddy, Alexis A. Snoddy and James D. Snoddy IV all of New Iberia, Troy A. Snoddy and Tessa K. Snoddy both of Fort Worth, Texas; a great granddaughter Avery Snoddy of New Iberia; one sister, Bertha Sparks and husband Buddy of Breaux Bridge and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Donald Snoddy Sr. and Edna Bourque Snoddy.
Pallbearers will be Blake, Troy, Jimmy IV, Alexis and Tessa Snoddy.
