Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Raywood J. Belanger, 86, will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, December 27, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Kenneth Mayne officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Sunday, December 26, 2010 from 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, December 27, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. A Native of Prairie Gregg and a resident of Erath Mr. Belanger died at 1:20PM on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at a local hospital. In 1970 Mr. Belanger joined Henry Fairchild as a partner of Iberia Well Service, which he eventually purchased all shares and operated till his retirement in 1985. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus; a former private pilot; member of 12 and Go; an avid golfer and gardener; enjoyed outings to Cypress Bayou; loved French music and dancing; and was devoted to his family. His is survived by a son, James A. Belanger and his wife Anna of Abbeville; two daughters, Rayle Belanger Thibeaux and her companion Alvin Labit of Abbeville and Loretta Belanger Duhon and her husband Lindy of Erath; two nephews, Orris Belanger and Leon Ortemond both of Erath; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Anna Mae Suire Belanger; his parents, Dalferee and Zulma Broussard Belanger; a son, Arthur Ray Belanger; two brothers, Walter Belanger and T.J. Belanger; a sister, Lula Ortemond; and a grandchild, Keith Barras. Serving as readers will be Rhonda Belanger Luquette and Lori Lemelle Belanger. Serving as gifts bearers will be Jamie Belanger, Mindy Duhon, and Nina Quebedeaux Barras. Serving as pallbearers will be Jude Barras, Peter Duhon, James Belanger, Jr., Brent Belanger, Kody Nugier, and Randall Nugier. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Blaise Barras, Braxton Barras, Henry Fairchild, Wilmer LeBlanc, R.J. Nunez, Tony Arceneaux, Daelyan Bessard, Justin Duhon, Dezmond Bessard, Greg Connor, Jr., and Dreven Bessard. David Funeral Home of Erath at 209 E.
