Abbeville - A Memorial Service for Mr. Norris J. Prejean, Sr., 80, will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 11:00AM, with Fr. William C. Blanda officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church from 10:00AM until the time of service. Interment will take place immediately following the service. A native of Abbeville and a resident of Kaplan, Mr. Prejean passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 at a local hospital. Mr. Prejean had been employed as a contractor in the oilfield and served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1952. Mr. Prejean was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, who dearly loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his children, Sherryl Prejean Broussard of Lafayette, Kathy Manuel, Lisa Saltzman and Angie Vincent all of Kaplan, Missy Dupuis of Broussard, Norris Bubba Prejean, Jr. of Carencro, Karen Guilbeau of Lafayette, and Nicky McIntosh of Lafayette; 23 grand children; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Velta Hebert of Maurice and Veltie LeBouef of Abbeville; and brother Clercy Prejean of Abbeville. He was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Phil Prejean; and his parents, Ozare and Ozita Frederick Prejean. The family would also like to extend their extreme thanks to the staff of Southern Care Hospice and Our Lady of Lourdes for all their help and support.
