Annie Lou Simon Viltz

Delcambre " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Preston Viltz, the former Annie Lou Simon, 87, on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Herb Bennefield officiating. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Delcambre on Monday, April 11, 2011 from 12:00 PM until services. A rosary will be prayed at 2:00 PM. A native of Leroy and a longtime resident of Delcambre, where she worked in the community for over 50 years, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 8:00 PM in a Lafayette hospital. She was a cosmotoligist and served on the Lousiana State Board of Cosmotology for many years. Mrs. Viltz had a vested interest in her community and was active at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and was a member of St. Anne Ladies Altar Society. She is survived by her son, Glen E. Viltz and his wife Garneth of Lafayette; her daughter, Sherrie V. Stockstill and her husband Michael D. of New Iberia; her sister, Rose Simon Lopez of Lafayette; her grandchildren, D. Brennen Stockstill of Lafayette, Brandon S. Stockstill and his wife Nicole of Baton Rouge, Eric S. Stockstill of Dallas, TX, Keri V. Underwood of Broussard and Ross J. Viltz of Baton Rouge and her great grandchildren, Nicholas L. Underwood, Cameron G. Underwood both of Broussard, Alston G. Stockstill and Evalyn Sloan Stockstill both of Baton Rouge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Viltz; her parents, Theovide and Noemie Bonin Simon; her sisters, Noelie Boudreaux, Inez S. Romero and Lilly S. Broussard and her brother, Ophe Simon. Pallbearers will be D. Brennan Stockstill, Brandon S. Stockstill, Eric S. Stockstill, Ross J. Viltz, Clifton Alleman, Sylvester Romero, Rudy Simon and Preston Romero. The family would like to express a special thank you to her sister-in-law, Dot Dugas, for her care giving love.
