New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Frank E. Ellis, the former, Willie Mae Nicholson, age 89, Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 2:00PM at St. Peters Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Langlois officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will begin Monday, February 28, 2011 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with recitation of a rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 10:00AM until service time.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Ellis died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 5:45PM in a New Iberia hospital. Mrs. Ellis was the New Iberia City Clerk Treasurer and retired after 33 years of service; she was a dedicated volunteer at St. Peter Catholic Church and at Dauterive Hospital. Mrs. Ellis was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Louisiana Municipal Clerks Association, Mt. Carmel Alumni and was a Pink Lady for 18 years.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by her son, Frank W. Ellis and wife Trina of Milton; her daughter, Patricia Ellis Durbin and husband James of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, James E. Durbin, Jr. and wife Pamela of Covington; Patrick E. Durbin and wife Colleen of Davenport, FL; Erin E. Durbin of Peoria, IL; Tyler Ebling and wife Megan and Crissy Ebling, all of Lafayette; and great-grandchildren, Emma Hargroder and Owen Brazill.
Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Ellis, her parents, William A. Nicholson and Eunice Lopez Nicholson, her brother, Lloyd A. Nicholson and granddaughter, Patricia Mary Durbin.
Serving as pallbearers will be James E. Durbin, Sr., James E. Durbin, Jr., Lloyd A. Nicholson, Jr., Don Doucet, Teddy Sliman, Jr. and Tyler Ebling.
Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Gosnell, Francis Sonny Reynaud, Sr., Lee K. Fournet, Roy Pontiff, Richard Farrell and Patrick Durbin.
