Loreauville- Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Dennis Laviolette,Sr., the former, Joyce Chataignier, age 84, Friday, November 19, 2010 at 12:00PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Buddy Breaux officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum. Visitation will begin Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 3:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of a rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume Friday, November 19, 2010 from 8:00AM until service time.

A native and resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Laviolette died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 12:30PM in a local hospital. Joyce loved gardening and attending church regularly. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Mrs. Laviolette is survived by her daughters, Sally Dauphine and husband Clifton of Loreauville and Cheryl Segura and husband Percy of New Iberia; her sons, Dennis Laviolette, Jr. and wife Maggie of New Iberia; and Matthew Laviolette and wife Cora of Loreauville; her daughter in law, Anna Laviolette of Loreauville; sisters, Rose Albert , Gertrude Crochet and Marie Neuville, all of Loreauville; brothers, Charles Chataignier and Gene Chataignier, both of Loreauville; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Mrs. Laviolette was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Laviolette, Sr., her son, Jody Laviolette, parents, Ozaire Chataignier and Eula Landry Chataignier, sisters, Beverly Chataignier, Eula Mae Olivier and Grace Robicheaux, brothers, Wade Chataignier, Jules Chataignier, George Chataignier and T-J.O. Chataignier and her grandson, Brett Laviolette.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Laviolette, Jr., Clifton Dauphine, Sr., Heath Dauphine, Sr., Duke Milliman, Dwayne Boudreaux and Dennis Laviolette III.
