Coteau " Funeral Services for Mr. Donald Lee Farmer, 64, will be held at David Funeral Home Chapel of Lafayette on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 2:00PM with Father Barry Crochet officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 10:00AM until service time. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau. A native of Erath and resident of Coteau, Mr. Donald passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at his residence. He is survived by his son, Chance Michael Farmer of Colorado; two grandchildren; two sisters, Frankie Menard and husband Nelson of New Orleans and Bonnie Matassa of New Iberia; two brothers, Dwight Farmer and wife Jeannine and Joey Farmer and wife Dawn, all of New Iberia; and his canine companion, Sue-Z. He was preceded in death by a son, Jason Jake Lee Farmer; his parents, Ocie Lee and Vernice Romero Farmer; his significant other, Martha Tookie Viator; and his brother-in-law, Joseph Matassa. Serving as pallbearers will be Dominic Farmer, Colby Copell, Kaine Champagne, Scot Romero, Nelson Menard, Jr. and Beau White. Honorary pallbearers will be Chance Farmer, Jude Marullo and Nicholas Farmer. The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to Mr. Donald.
