Roland Joseph Sigue

Lydia- A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Roland J. Sigue, age 83, Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Gregory Chauvin officiating. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Mausoleum, Patoutville. Visitation will be at St. Nicholas Catholic, Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 9:00am until service time with a recitation of the Rosary at 10:30am .

A native and lifelong resident of Iberia Parish, Mr. Sigue died Monday, January 31, 2011 at 7:55PMin a New Iberia hospital. Mr. Siguewas a faithful member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and Knights of Peter Claver. He was also a retired school bus driver for Iberia Parish School Board. Mr. Sigue farmed for years with his brothers and was very active in his flower garden, as well as everyone elses. He enjoyed riding around on his lawnmower and going to the casino on Sunday evenings. But his greatest joy was spending time with and caring for his family and friends.

Mr. Sigue is survived by his daughters, Wanda Sigue of Patoutville; Charlene Mitchell and husband James, and Brenda Sam and husband Carl, all of Grand Marais; sons, Wayne Sigue of Patoutville; and Glenn Sigue of Grand Marais; grandchildren, Brittney and Sierra Mitchell, Colby, Sarah and Bently Sigue, and Brandon Sam; brothers, Donald Sigue, Joseph Sigue, Jr. and wife Celeste, all of Patoutville; sister-in-law, Jeanette Sigue of Houston, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Sigue was preceded in death by his wife Annie Oppenheimer Sigue, parents, Joseph Sigue, Sr. and Agnes Olivier Sigue, brothers, Warren Sigue and wife Verna, and Lurry Sigue, sister-in-law, Ella Sigue, sister-in-law, Agnes Olivier and husband Jospeh Olivier, Jr.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Sigue, Jr., Donald Sigue, Glenn Sigue, Patrick Sigue, James Mitchell and Shone Sigue.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Sigue, Carl Sam, James Sigue, Lurry Jamie Sigue, Jr., Alton Oppenheimer, Clifford Olivier, Altimus Sigue, Jr., Matthew Delahoussaye, Paulton Olivier and Lee Sigue.
