Lafayette- Funeral Services for Helen T. Trahan, 85, will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 2:00PM at David Funeral Home of Lafayette Chapel with Reverend Louis Richard officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 10:00AM until just prior to service time with a recitation of the Rosary at 11:00AM in the funeral home. Entombment will follow services in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Cemetery in Broussard. A native of the Judice Community and a longtime resident of Lafayette, Mrs. Trahan passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Regional Medical Center of Acadiana here in Lafayette. Along with being a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Great-great-grandmother; Helen, was employed for many years with Golden Cleaners , was a cafeteria worker at Plantation Elementary School here in Lafayette until the time of her retirement and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 70 years, John H. Trahan of Lafayette; her sons Jimmy Trahan and his girlfriend, Brenda Richard of Lafayette, Roland Trahan and his wife Marie of Broussard and Rodney Phillip Trahan and his wife Susan of Baton Rouge, LA; nine Grandchildren; 12 Great-grandchildren and one Great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleobule and Melanie Hebert Trahan; one son, John Ray Trahan and two sisters, Mable T. Simon and Dorothy T. Baudoin. Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Trahan, Roland Trahan, Rodney Trahan, Lance Trahan, Neal LeBlanc and Charles Picard. David Funeral Home of Lafayette, (337) 837-9887, 316 Youngsville Hwy.
