Beatrice "Nanny Bea" Bernard

Youngsville " A Memorial Service for Beatrice Nanny Bea Bernard, 98, will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 10:00AM on Saturday June 18, 2011, with Father David Hebert, future Associate Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott ,(effective July 1, 2011) and the great-nephew of Ms. Bernard, officiating. A Gathering of family and friends will begin at 9:00AM until just prior to service time. Interment will follow services at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery in Youngsville. A native and resident of Youngsville, Nanny Bea passed away peacefully at 8:28PM on Monday, February 28, 2011 at her nephews residence. She worked for many years as a Nurses Aide and retired from Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. She also worked for Pippin Lane in New Orleans sewing handmade heirloom baby clothing and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family. Nanny Bea is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rousseau and Rosa Richard Bernard; one brother, Homer Bernard; and two sisters, Mathilda Bernard and Edmonia B. Frederick. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Milton Jolivette and his staff. Also, Jodie Bienvenue, Stephanie Sellers and Complete Home Health for the compassionate care given to Nanny Bea.
