Marie Crochet Mendoza

August 19, 1916 — February 2, 2011

Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Anthony Tony Mendoza the former Marie Crochet, Age 94, at 11:00AM Saturday February 5, 2011 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Green officiating. Interment will follow at St. Johns Mausoleum. Visitation will be Saturday February 5, 2011 from 9:00AM until service time with a Rosary will be prayed at 10:00AM. A native of Loreauville and longtime resident of Jeanerette Mrs. Mendoza died Wednesday February 2, 2011 at 2:10PM at her daughters residence in New Iberia. Mrs. Marie was a hairdresser, seamstress and an excellent cook. She also did upholstery work with her husband Tony. She was an avid golfer who loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 77 years, Anthony Tony Mendoza; children, Marcelle M. Gonzalez of New Iberia and Robert Bobby Mendoza of Thibodeaux; one brother, Paul Crochet of Lafayette; 11 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild and 17 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Rab Mendoza; parents, Robert and Louise Hebert Crochet; brothers, Claude, Sandy, Nicholas, Louis and Jules Crochet; two sisters, Roberta Landry and Lorena Crochet and a grandson, Keith Mendoza. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Mendoza, Jeremy and Justin Gonzalez and Jason and Rory Derwin. David Funeral Home, 400 Provost St. Jeanerette, La. (337)276-5151 is in charge of arrangements.
