Dunnis Romero

New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Dunnis Romero, Age 84, at 10:00 AM Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Charles Langlois officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 from 8:00 AM until service time.

A native of Abbeville and Resident of New Iberia, Mr. Romero passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 12:00 PM at a local healthcare facility. Mr. Romero was employed with the City of New Iberia and retired after 23 years of service. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, playing the Double Diamonds slot machines at the casino, and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle and will be sadly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce LeBlanc Romero of New Iberia; one brother, Theard Romero of New Iberia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Romauld Romero and Althea Delahoussaye Romero; four brothers, Eustis Romero, Lenies Romero, Alias Romero, and Clarence Romero; and two sisters, Eula R. Bourque, and Eunice Romero.

Pallbearers will be Michael Romero, Brandon Romero, Minos Romero, Jason Derouen, Clarence Romero Jr., and Jordan Derouen.
