Lafayette " Funeral Services for Mrs. John W. Smith, the former Phyllis Wagner, 85, will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at David Funeral Home Chapel of Lafayette with Rev. Weldon Moak officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 10:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery. A native of East Point, MI and resident of Lafayette, Mrs. Smith died at 12:55AM on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at a local hospital. She worked as a phone operator for Michigan Bell and enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles, doing yard work and reading to her grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Don Edward Smith and his wife Gloria of Metamora, MI; two daughters, LeLann Irene Pokorski and her husband John of Metamora, MI and Gail Ann Guillory and her husband Nathan of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Christine Medley, Daryl Smith, Matthew Smith, Jennifer Roger and Stacey Tilley; and ten great-grandchildren, Jeffery Medley, Michael Medley, Kevin Medley, Sarah Medley, Brittney Marcell, Nathaniel Tilley, Danielle Tilley, Benjamin Tilley, Kalli Miller and Megan Roger. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Smith; parents, Adolphe and Ruth Brennon Wagner; three brothers, Edwin Wagner, Richard Wagner and Adolphe Babe Wagner; and a sister, Edna Tietz. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Roger, Tommy Tilley, Reno Duhon, Leonard Guillory, Charles Tilley and Daryl Smith.
