Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Ronald Jules Dick Hebert Sr. Age 77, at 11:00AM Saturday June 11, 2011 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with his nephew Reverend Mark Derise, Reverends Jodi Simoneaux and Ed Degeyter and Deacon Theo Landry officiating. Interment will follow at St. Johns Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday June 10, 2011 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM and Saturday from 8:00AM until service time. A Rosary will be prayed Saturday at 9:30AM by Rev. Ed Degeyter. Musical selections for the Mass will be sung by the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Mens Choir. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 1982 Honor Guard. A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Hebert died Wednesday June 8, 2011 at 8:20PM at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family would especially like to thank Stella Prejean and the doctors and nursing staff of both Lafayette General Medical Center and L.T.A.C. at Lafayette General for their excellent care. Mr. Hebert worked for Teche Electric Coop retiring as a foreman after 41 ½ years of service. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and was a member of the Perpetual Adoration Group. He was named Jeanerettes Senior Outstanding Citizen in 2010. He really enjoyed family gatherings, fishing, gardening and dancing. Dick was a loving strong family man who never said no and was active and willing to always help anyone. He was a retired Sgt. 1st class with the Louisiana National Guard having served for 21 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Romona Comeaux Hebert; children, Monica Hebert Guillotte of Jeanerette, Ronald J. Hebert Jr. and wife Johanna of Columbia, Maryland, Kay Hebert Mestayer and husband Chris of Zachary and Keith Hebert and wife Liz of Kingwood, Texas; a special nephew, Tommy G. Hebert and wife Liz of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Jeff Guillotte of Lafayette, Victor Guillotte of Jeanerette, Amelie Hebert of Harahan, Arianne Hebert of New Haven, Connecticut, Ian Hebert of Columbia, Maryland, Emilie and Katie Mestayer of Zachary, Ross Hebert of Mobile, Alabama, Nicholas Hebert of Lodi, California and Macie and Shelby Hebert of Kingwood, Texas; great grandchildren, Blake Hebert of Lodi, California and Grace Guillotte of Lafayette; special nieces and nephews, Tommy Frederick, Chantel Gaudet and Drew Hebert and their spouses and Devin Gaudet. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noe and Agnes Hebert Hebert; a sister, Mary Louise Derise and a son-in-law, Ronald J. Possum Guillotte Jr. Pallbearers will be Chris Mestayer, Jeff Guillotte, Victor Guillotte, Devin Gaudet, Nicholas Hebert, Ross Hebert, Drew Hebert and Tommy Frederick. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat and Brian Napier, Steve Blanchard, Gabriel Ga Fortier, Norman Brignac, Frank Guiberteau, Gerald Hebert, Dalton Sonnier, Larry Gaudet, Mike and Jonathan Dempsey, Ian Hebert, John DeJean, Leonard Stevens, Mark McLean, Louis Pirnie and Harold Bud Landry.
