A native of Avery Island, he died Saturday, June 18, 2011, at his home in New Iberia following a long battle with kidney and lung disease. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and worked in the automobile industry for 50 years as a manager at Acadian Pontiac Buick, and in sales at Musson Patout. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hazel Menard Dugas; three children, Scott Dugas and his wife, Terri of Baton Rouge, Claire Seneca and her husband, Jed of Newport Beach, CA, and Denise Keaty and her husband, Scott of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren, David and Julie Dugas, Cali and Seth Seneca, and Josh and Alex Keaty. His mother, Elise Bonin, his maternal grandparents, Theodose and Elena Bonin, and his oldest son, David Dugas, preceded him in death
. Cleve was a charter member of Highland Baptist Church and an ordained Deacon. He was active in the church until the onset of his illness. Visitation hours will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 5:00-9:00p, and on Tuesday from 9:00a until the time of service at Davids Funeral Home in New Iberia. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, at 1:00p in Davids Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Reggie R. Ogea, former Pastor of Highland Baptist Church, will officiate the service, accompanied by Reverend David Denton. Pallbearers are Scott Dugas, Jed Seneca, Scott Keaty, David Dugas, Seth Seneca, and Jimmy Romero. Honorary pallbearers are C.B. Lum Ellis, Harold Chip Lopez, and Ordley Viator.
