Erath- A Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara L. Vincent, 75, will be held at 10:00AM Friday, November 22, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath, LA with Rev. Bill Melancon as Celebrant. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 9:00AM until 9:00PM with a Recitaion of the Holy Rosary at 7:00PM and will resume at 8:00AM on Friday until just prior to service time. Readers for the Holy Mass will be Vicki Vincent and Kelsey Yates; Giftbearers will be Danielle Vincent and Jamie Lavergne and vocals will be provided by Natial DAugereau. Interment will follow the church services at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Abbeville, LA. Mrs. Vincent passed away on Tuesday November 19, 2013 at Lafayette General Hospital. Mrs. Vincent was born in Abbeville, LA and a longtime resident of Erath, LA. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister to her family. She cared very deeply from her heart for her family and always gave all she could to all of whom she loved so dearly. She will also be forever remembered by all who knew and loved her for he r great love of a good gumbo . She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, L. J. Vincent of Erath, LA; sons, KeithVincent and his wife, Bonnie of Erath, LA and Kevin Vincent and his wife, Vicki of Abbeville, LA; granddaughters, Danielle Vincent and her fiance Jeremy of Erath, LA and Jamie Vincent Lavergne and her husband, Scott of Maurice, LA; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Yates and Kelsey Yates both of Erath, LA and Austin Lavergne of Maurice, LA; sisters, Dianna L. Dartez and her husband, Bob of Lafayette, LA and Shirley Sheffield and her husband A.J., of Abbeville, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Leta Duhon Landry. Pallbearers will be Bob Dartez, Kaleb Yates, Jeremy Peltier, Scott Lavergne, Gerald Frederick and Homer Stelly. Honorary pallbearers will be A.J. Sheffield, Austin Lavergne and Kelsey Yates.
