New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Michael Olivier Villermin, 97, on Monday, November 18, 2013, at 2:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Paul Bienvenue officiating. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Monday, November 18, 2013, from 8:30 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Monday at 10:00 AM. A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Villermin passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 1:00 AM at his residence. He was a retired Electrical Contractor and was the owner of Villermin and Sons Electrical Contractors. Along with his electrical work he enjoyed building houses. He loved woodworking, traveling, fishing and also had a pilots license. He was affectionately known to all as Pops . He is survived by his son Pat Villermin and his wife Elaine of Loreauville; his daughters, Penny V. Terry and her husband Douglas of Angleton, TX and Peggy V. Gargis and her husband Michael of Birmingham, AL; his grandchildren, Vickie Crochet and her husband Keith, Eric Villermin and his wife Pegge, Pam Villermin, Leah V. Thibodeaux, Douglas Villermin, Mickey Bellott, Flynn Bellott and Dwan Green and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherin Frederick Villermin; his parents, Lawrence F. Villermin, Sr. and Rita Nita Duperier Villermin; his son, Mickey Villermin; his brothers, Lester Villermin, Paul Villermin and Lawrence Villermin, Jr. and his sisters, Aline Dupuy and Nita Guillot. Pallbearers will be Rich Phelps, Wayne Derouen, Russell Lanclos, Eric Villermin, Keith Crochet and Hunter Crochet. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Perez, Ashton Crochet, Luke Villermin, Flynn Bellott and Vic Terro.
