Billy John Meaux

A lifelong resident of Abbeville Mr. Meaux died on Saturday, November 9, 2013 in Lafayette, LA. He was known for coaching the Vermilion Sluggers; and his enjoyment of playing cards, playing the accordion, and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Becky Gisclair Meaux of Abbeville; his mother, Brenda Weekly Meaux of Abbeville; two sons, Billy J. Meaux, Jr. and Brett Meaux both of Abbeville; a daughter, Heather Meaux of Abbeville; seven brothers, Percy J. Meaux, Jr. of Maurice, David Meaux of Delcambre, Michael Meaux of Abbeville, Jimmy Meaux of Abbeville, Robert Bubba Meaux of Abbeville, Joseph Meaux of Abbeville, and Darrel Meaux of Mississippi; six sisters, Linda Grimes of China, TX, Eva Meaux of Abbeville, Patty Meaux of Abbeville, Mary Meaux of Abbeville, Cheryl Meaux of Franklinton, and Martha Meaux of Bogalousa; and his father in law, Kenneth Clostio and his wife Brenda of Abbeville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Percy John Meaux, Sr.; and a brother, Donald Meaux.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Meaux, Robert Bubba Meaux, Michael Meaux, David Meaux, Darrel Meaux, and Ivy Poirier.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Smith and Jarret Hebert.
