LOREAUVILLE " A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Sandra Provost Horton, age 66, on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at 10:00am at St. Josephs Catholic Church. Fr. John Buddy Breaux will be the celebrant with musical accompaniment by Gannon Dooley. Reading sacred scripture will be Gail Leleux and Linda Clifton. Gift bearers will be Mrs. Hortons granddaughters, Lacey Hitter, Kylie Monteaux, and Ellen Barras. Following Mass Mrs. Horton will be laid to rest at All Saints Mausoleum.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, from 2:00pm until 9:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00pm. Visitation will resume on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 8:00am until service time.
A native and resident of Loreauville, Sandra Horton passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 6:45am. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and Nannie to all of her nieces and nephews. To the next generation, she was Aunt Sandra . She enjoyed cooking and gardening, and was an avid seamstress. Her greatest joys in life were entertaining family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved people and people loved her, unconditionally.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Daniel B. Horton, III; children, Jennifer Barras and husband, Robert; Kimberly Monteaux and husband, Glenn; Daniel B. Horton, IV and wife, Shauntelle. Grandchildren: Johnathan Barras and wife, Jill; Ellen Barras, Lacey Hitter, Bryce Monteaux, Kylie Monteaux, Gabriel Horton, and Samantha Horton; great-grandchildren: Addie and Wyatt Barras; sister: Rose Provost Marcantel of Houston, TX, and brother: Wayne Provost.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Edward and Amanda Seneca Provost, and brother Ralph Provost.
Pallbearers will be family members: Daniel Horton IV, Robert Barras, Glenn Monteaux, Craig Marcantel, Doyle Provost, and Johnathan Barras.
The family would like to thank all of Mrs. Hortons lifelong friends for their love and support throughout the years.
In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Completion Project.
