Helen Stockstill Curry

September 23, 1924 — January 18, 2014

New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Floyd Curry, Sr. the former Helen Ruth Stockstill at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Scott Bullock officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, January 20th, 2014 at First United Methodist Church from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.

A native of Bayou Chene, and a long time resident of New Iberia, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Lafayette Chapter #46 Order of Eastern Star. She was employed by Texaco for 30 years as Secretary to the Superintendent.

Her survivors include her son, Floyd John Curry and his wife Mayor Hilda Daigre Curry. Her grandchildren, Genee Curry Champagne, Floyd John Curry II, and Rebecca Daigre Curry. Her great-grandchildren Mason John Curry and Madeline Michelle Champagne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Curry, Sr., parents Amanda Case Stockstill and John Stockstill, Sr. brothers Earl, Ramsey, and John Stockstill and sister Bessie Stockstill Verret.

Pallbearers will be Floyd John Curry II, Donald Stockstill, Mickey Stockstill, Judge Robert L. Segura, Kevin Stockstill, and Carlos Snellgrove.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Acadiana or the First United Methodist Church.
