Abbeville- Funeral Services for Mrs. Joseph Bourgeois, the former Linda Meaux will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2013 in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Maurine Whiteside officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 4:30 PM until 10:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 8:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. A native and resident of Abbeville, Mrs. Bourgeois cherished her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Bourgeois died on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in a Lafayette Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Bourgeois of Abbeville, her father, Doris Meaux of Abbeville, four daughters, Juanic Michelle Fira and her husband,Ricardo of Dallas, Texas, Marlene Braly and her husband, Billy of Erath, Shannon Fontenot and her husband Jacob of Baton Rouge, La., and Charlene Oliva and her husband, Byron of Erath, step-son, Gerald Bourgeois of Baton Rouge, La., four step-daughters, Lisa Cheshier of Kaplan, Kathy Romero of Kaplan, Deborah Abshire of Mobile, Alabamaand Geraldine Robicheaux of New Orleans, La., five sisters, Debra Frederick of Abbeville, Yvonne Meaux of Abbeville, Darlene Gaspard of Kaplan, Vanessa Broussard of Maurice, La., and Barbara Cormier of Groves, Texas., one brother, Doris Meaux, Jr. of Abbeville, La. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeremiah Hebert, her mother, Helen Gosset Meaux, and her sister, Marlene Meaux. Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Dixon, Dillon Hebert, Fabian Hebert, Manny Bourgeois, Byron Oliva and Jacob Fontenot.
