Frances Nixon Falgout

New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Richard Falgout, the former Frances Annelle Nixon, 74, on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Bullock officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 9:00 AM until services.

A native of Port Arthur, TX and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Falgout passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 12:05 PM at her residence. She was a retired school teacher with the Iberia Parish School Board having taught at Pesson, Johnson,North Street and Loreauville Elementary Schools, Catholic High School and Mt. Carmel Academy for over 30 years. She also owned and operated Jack and Jills Kindergarten School. She was a member of Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Iberia Parish School Boards Committees, Retired Teachers Association, National Education Association, Louisiana Association of Educators, Iberia Association of Educators, Lifetime Girl Scout, Troop Leader & Various Programs Council Wide, was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Cub Scout Day Camp Director and Volunteered with Biddy Basketball and Boys & Girls Club of Acadiana.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Lee Falgout, Sr. of New Iberia; her children, Richard Lee Falgout, II and his wife Debbie of Houston, TX, Muriel Falgout Sonnier and her fiance Rodney Romero of Maurice, Thomas Hatton Falgout of High Point, NC, Rachel Concetta Falgout of Atlanta, GA and Mitch Falgout and his wife Virginia of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Brittany Annelle Sonnier Furlow and her husband Nathan of Prairieville, Alysia Nicole Sonnier, Stephen Beau Sonnier, Anna Falgout and Addison Falgout all of Lafayette; her mother, Mildred Greer Butaud; her siblings, Marie Weeks, James Pemberton, Carolyn Boneski, Alice Patton, Kenneth Nixon, Harold Nixon and Lynda Butaud and her very dear caretaker, Danielle Robertson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Benjamin Nixon and her step-father, Marvin Butaud.

Pallbearers will be Mitch Falgout, Richard Lee Falgout, II, Thomas Falgout, Beau Sonnier, Rodney Romero and Joey Boneski.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Paul Falgout, Rick Weeks, Chris Manuel, Floyd Curry, Hilda Curry and Bill Elliot.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to Boys & Girls Club of Acadiana.
