A native and lifelong resident of Loreauville, Mr. Gonsoulin died Saturday July 23, 2011 at 7:20PM in a Lafayette hospital.
Mr. Gonsoulin was a welder for Breauxs Bay Craft for 20 years. He was an avid sports fan who loved following the Loreauville Tigers football team for many years. He loved Big Band music, horse racing and playing cards. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in both WWII and the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife Mildred Blackie Dupoy Gonsoulin of Loreauville, his children, Janice G. Crochet and husband Kirk and Ronald J. Gonsoulin Jr. and wife Maxine all of Loreauville and Theresa G. Prados and husband Gerard of New Iberia and his grandchildren, Kirby and Willie Ronsonet, Heath and Katie Prados, Brandy Gonsoulin and Stacy, Kelly and Christopher Crochet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Stennie Provost Gonsoulin and his brothers and sisters, Lloyd, Ralph and Vernon Gonsoulin, Eve Gonsoulin Segura and Stennie Gonsoulin Doerle.
Pallbearers will be Kirby and Willie Ronsonet, Christopher Crochet, Ronald Gonsoulin Jr, Jim Gonsoulin and Kenny Segura.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Doerle, Bill Gonsoulin, Kirk Crochet and Gerard Prados.
