Lydia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Sylvester Lopez Sr., the former Mildred Migues, age 78, at 11:00AM Wednesday April 18, 2012 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Mausoleum in Patoutville. Visitation will be Tuesday April 17, 2012 from 3:00PM until 10:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Wednesday from 8:00AM until service time. A native of Vermilion parish and longtime resident of Lydia, Mrs. Lopez died Sunday April 15, 2012 at 9:30AM at her residence in Lydia. She enjoyed cooking, going to the casino and being with her family. Survivors include her children, Sylvester Lopez, Jr. of Jeanerette, Helen Lester, Theresa Leonard, Nancy Latiolais, Marlene Luent and Leslie Gary all of Lydia, Ida Ryder of New Iberia, Peggy Morris of Waxahachie, Texas, Thelma Daigle and Elizabeth Theriot both of Coteau and Barbara Snyder of Houma; two brothers, James Migues of New Iberia and Paul Migues of Groves, Texas; two sisters, Rita Eskine of New Iberia and Hazel Prince of Jeanerette; 25 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Lopez, Sr., two daughters, Janet Lopez Braun and Gladys Lopez, parents, Eddie and Virginia Comeaux Migues, brothers, Curley, Harry, Henry, Clifton and Julius Migues, sisters, Janelle and June Migues and Margaret LeBlanc, a grandson, Keith Louviere, a great grandson, Hunter Lester and two sons in law, Charles Braun and Richard Morris. Pallbearers will be Brent Luent, Rusty Gary, Rockey Leonard Jr., Ricky Theriot Jr., Lad Lester and James Migues. Honorary pallbearers will be Elton Latiolais Jr., Elton Latiolais III, Paul Migues, Brian Lester and Robert Lester, Jr. and Robert Lester III, Jack Romero, Sylvester Lopez Jr., Joseph and Oscar Theriot, Terry Daigle Jr, Trent Daigle, Shaun and Dustin Snyder.
