Cecile Marice Elliott

New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Bill Elliott the former Cecile Marice Jackson, Age 69, Saturday August 20, 2011 at 12:30 PM, at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Bullock officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday August 19, 2011 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM and Saturday from 9:00AM until service time.

A native of Laurel, Mississippi and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Elliott died Wednesday August 17, 2011 at 2:05PM at her residence in New Iberia.

Mrs. Elliott was a good, loving wife, mother, grandmother, mother in law, sister in law and friend to all she knew. She was a first grade teacher for over 35 years, a member of First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. In her spare time she enjoyed shopping and going to the beach with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Bill Elliott of New Iberia, son, William Elliott, daughter in law, Janis and granddaughter Lorna Elliott all of Safety Harbor, Florida and her dog Bruno, brother and sister in law, Mac Elliott and Lyla Elliott of Madison, Mississippi.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard P. and Myrtle McClellan Jackson.

The family would especially like to thank Catherine Pridgen, her friend and caregiver whom she loved very much, Dr. Ken Ritter, Ada, Leslie and Stephanie, Paramount Hospice, Janet and Cindy, all her loving caring members of First United Methodist Church and Pastor Scott Bullock and many friends who offered so much help and love.

Pallbearers will be Dave Feldman, Jay Duhe, Lonnie Scott, Chris Jordan, Mark Dunbar, Sammy Kennedy, Mac Elliott and Bill Hual.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Pattillo, Dale Nowell and Jimmy McDonough, and Jimmy Flannagan.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Fellowship Hall at First United Methodist Church after funeral services have concluded.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation of Tampa, Fl. or Louisiana Methodist Childrens Home.
