Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Aurelie Hebert, the former Alma Landry, 96, will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Bill J. Melancon officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Saturday, July 30, 2011 from 9:00AM until service time with a Rosary being recited at 11:00AM. Interment will follow the services in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. A native of Vermilion Parish and current resident of Youngsville, Mrs. Alma passed away at 11:10PM on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at a Lafayette hospital. She ran Decouxs Grocery Store in Erath for nearly twenty years. She was a strong, hard-working, compassionate and fun-loving woman who was full of grace and appreciated all things. Mrs. Alma was a "true" lady who was courteous and had an abundance of love for God in her heart. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing cards and cooking. She would shop at Champagnes just to meet people and was friends with everyone she met. Everyone who knew her loved her. She is survived by her daughters, Audrey Clement of Abbeville, Gloria Ledet of Youngsville and Rickey Hargrave and husband James of Lafayette; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Edwin Landry; sister-in-law, Gussie Landry; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aurelie Hebert; her first husband and father of her children, C.D. Decoux; her parents, Remy and Leah Suire Landry; her daughter, Joycelyn Schexnaider; brother, L.J. Landry; three sisters, Iris Decoux, Nilta T. Peltier and Loula Mae Toups; great-granddaughter, Kalli Clement; two sons-in-law, Isaac Broussard, Jr. and John P. Clement; grandson-in-law, Lynn Goutierrez; and sister-in-law, Madeline Landry. Serving as pallbearers will be Derek Hargrave, Wendell Broussard, Charles Toups, Jason Goutierrez, Barry Richard, Sr. and Barry Richard, Jr. The family would like to thank Dr. Syed Fazal and the staff of Heart Hospital for the compassionate care given to Mrs. Alma.
