A mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Howard Poppa Howee J. Trahan, 74, will be held at 4:00PM on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at St. Annes Catholic Church with Father Jason Mouton officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Monday, June 11, 2012 from 1:00PM until 12:00Am with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 8:00AM until time of services. Interment will follow at St. Annes Cemetery. A native of Lafayette Parish and a resident of Youngsville, Mr. Trahan died at 8:35AM on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was known as an avid outdoorsman who loved trawling, spending time at his camp and cooking. His favorite times were spent being with his children and grandchildren outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Joan Schexnayder Trahan of Youngsville, 3 sons: Dwayne Neggy Trahan and his wife Linda of Bridgeport, WV, Mitchell Jude Trahan and his wife Stacey of Youngsville; and Howard Joey Trahan and his wife Jennifer of League City, TX; 4 daughters; Gwen T. Faulk and her husband Jimmy of Youngsville Brenda T. Reaux and her husband Byron of Youngsville, Priscilla T. Girouard and her husband Jacque of Youngsville and Angella T. Spooner of Abbeville; one brother; Bryan Trahan and three sisters; Bernice T. Lopez, Ruby T. Landry, and Sharlette T. Landry, and twenty grandchildren; Michael T-Mike Girouard and wife Tracie, Brandon Reaux, Brock Reaux and wife Tarrah, Erin Faulk Hildalgo and her husband Jude, Jared Trahan, Ashley Trahan, Brady Reaux, Mitch Trahan, Alana Trahan, Brandi Weimorts, Sam Faulk, Kristi Weimorts, Mikey Saucier, Kalli Trahan, Zack Saucier, Peter Faulk, Cheney Trahan, Jacque Girouard, Jadyn Trahan, and Jillian Trahan: two step grandchildren, Mitchell Harrington and Megan Harrington; eleven great grandchildren, Laila Hildalgo; Olivia Hildalgo; Brette Reaux; Kinley Reaux; Landon Reaux; Kael Reaux; Madyson McBroom; Evan Girouard; Zoey Trahan; Audrey'ana Hills; and Quinn Berard, and two step great grandchildren: Trinidy Hebert, and Aidyn Hebert. He was preceded in death by his parents; Edias & Rena Delahoussaye Trahan; a daughter, Vanessa Kay Trahan; and a brother Sanford Black Trahan. Serving as pallbearers will be, Dwayne Neggy Trahan, Mitchell Jude Trahan, Howard Joey Trahan, Jared Trahan, Jimmy Faulk, Byron Reaux, and Jacque Girouard. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons. Serving as readers and gift bearers will be his granddaughters. The family expresses heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all of his doctors, nurses, and therapists.
