Cow Island " A Mass to celebrate the life of Gregory Louis Couvillon, 61, will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, August 5, 2011 at David Funeral Home Chapel in Abbeville with Father M. Keith Landry officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 2:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM and will resume on Friday from 11:00AM until the time of services. A native of Abbeville and resident of Cow Island, Gregory passed away at 2:50PM on Monday, August 1, 2011 at a Lafayette hospital. He enjoyed karaoke and was a member of the Louisiana Cattlemens Association and the District 13 Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jo Nolan Couvillon of Cow Island; his children, Chris Couvillon and wife Katherine of Lawrence, Kansas, Michelle Couvillon Pauda and husband Sam of Ulysses, Kansas, Cynthia Couvillon Lane and husband Michael of El Reno, Oklahoma and Mark Couvillon of Cow Island; six grandchildren; his mother, Theresa Hebert Couvillon of Cow Island; and his sister, Melissa Couvillon Hebert and husband Pat of Cow Island. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Louis Couvillon and his brother, Gerald Couvillon. David Funeral Home of Abbeville at 2600 Charity Street, (337) 893-3777, is in charge of arrangements.
