Harvey Lee Coleman

New Iberia-Memorial services will be conducted for Harvey Lee Coleman, age 64 on Wednesday August 10, 2011 at 7:00PM at David Funeral Home Chapel withRev. Scott Bullock officiating. A Gathering of family and friends willbegin at 5:00PM prior to service.

A native of Jellico, TN and resident of New Iberia; Mr. Coleman died Tuesday August 2, 2011 at 11:16AM in a New Iberia hospital. Harvey was a member of the United States Army having served two tours in the Vietnam War. Mr. Colemanlived and worked in Spain, China,Indonesia and several other countries.Before his retirement, he was employed as a Helicopter Mechanic for Air Logistics for 15 years. Harvey was very mechanically inclined and enjoyed rebuilding motorcycles and cars. His hobbies also included woodworking, gardening and repairing anything he could get his hands on; but none of these, surpassed the time, devotion and joy that he found in caring for his family.

Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ghislaine Quessy of New Iberia; son, Haydn Coleman of New Iberia; father, Abraham Lincoln Coleman, Jr. of La Follette, TN; brother, Abraham Lincoln Coleman III and wife Penny Ann of Dalton, GA and sister, Brenda Kay Long and husband Richard of Dayton, OH.

Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Kay Vanover Coleman.
